Frankfurt pension fund acquires turnkey Edeka supermarket in Sörup, Winters & Hirsch brokers deal

A Frankfurt-based pension fund has acquired a brand new Edeka supermarket in Sörup, a town in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein, from a  well-known property developer. The Berlin-based real estate agency Winters & Hirsch successfully brokered the deal.

The retail property, which will be completed in the second quarter of 2022, is located at Bahnhofstraße 40/ Elkierdamm 1,3 in Sörup, a town near the Baltic Sea coast. The municipality of Sörup has a population of around 3,100 and is located between Flensburg and Schleswig in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg.

The new retail property has a total lettable area of approximately 2,700 sqm. There are also around 120 parking spaces on the property.

The tenant, EDEKA, has signed a 15-year lease with a 3/5-year extension option.

Winters & Hirsch was appointed by the seller as sole agent to market the property and also advised the buyer on the transaction.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
